If you want to know what God is really like, look at Jesus. Whether you’ve been following Jesus for years or still have questions, Pastor Jeremy teaches us all something new about who Jesus really is– the visible image of the invisible God!
Notes 📓✏️:
City First Church should look like heaven will.
JESUS
We exist to introduce everyone to Jesus and teach them to follow Him.
Romans 10:9,10 (HCSB): “If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation.”
Confess and Believe
What we believe and confess MATTERS.
A.W. Tozer – “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.”
Who He is
How to pray to Him
How to worship Him
How to imitate Him
How to declare Him
Edict of Milan
Who is Jesus?
Jesus is “of the same substance as the Father
Nicene Creed – a clear statement of faith that still anchors the global Church today.
Creed – A formal statement of beliefs or principles that guide a person or group.
We believe in one God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God,
begotten of the Father before all worlds,
Light of Light, very God of very God,
begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father;
by whom all things were made.
Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven,
and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary, and was made man;
He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate,
and suffered, and was buried;
and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures;
and ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of the Father;
and He shall come again with glory to judge the quick and the dead;
whose kingdom shall have no end.
And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of life;
who proceeds from the Father;
who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified;
who spoke by the prophets.
In one holy catholic and apostolic Church;
we acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins;
we look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

God is three in one: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
“Trinity”
The Father [God] creates.
The Son [Jesus] redeems.
The Spirit [Holy Spirit] empowers.
Because WHAT you believe about God shapes HOW you relate to Him.
Knowing Jesus Is Knowing God
Nor is Jesus a version of our preferred pre-existing beliefs, desires, or opinions.
John 14:9 (Jesus Speaking): “Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father.”
Jesus is the visible image of the invisible God.
Jesus isn’t just God’s representative — He’s God revealed.
We’re Invited into a Divine Relationship, Not Religion
God has never been lonely.
He didn’t create us to fill a void; He created us to share His love.
Jesus’ Invitation to Us: Into divine relationship. Into eternal love with the Creator.
John 15:9 (Jesus Speaking): “As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. Now remain in My love.”
Religion says: “Do more, be better, earn love.”
Relationship says: “You already belong — now live from that love.”
A Grander View of Jesus
That awareness moves your heart from casual to consecrated, from admiration to adoration.
You can’t worship what you reduce to your level.
The Trinity isn’t a theological puzzle to solve — it’s a relationship to experience.
One God, in three persons, with a life-changing invitation…
To be fully known, forgiven, and loved by the Almighty God.
