“Awaken”

“When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.”
Acts 2:1-4 (NIV)

“Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?”
I Corinthians 3:16 (ESV)

“It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. Jesus is ‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’”
Acts 4:11

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”

“And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word. Stretch out your hand with healing power; may miraculous signs and wonders be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”
Act 4:29-20 (NLT)

They prayed for boldness.

“After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.”
Acts 4:31 (NLT)

They Were Shook Again

Many of us need to be SHOOK AGAIN!

You need a shaking of the most HIGH GOD to fill you with boldness!

No victory in Heaven goes unchallenged by hell.

They prayed for BOLDNESS in the face of the enemy’s attacks.

And WHEN WE PRAY FOR BOLDNESS, may we be SHOOK AGAIN!

1. Ask God to shake anything in you that’s grown numb or complacent.

2. Confess where you’ve been running on empty and ask the Spirit to refill you.

3. Exchange nostalgia for NOW (Stop longing for what God did and lean into what He’s doing.)

4. Create space daily for God to refill you: quiet, prayer, Word, worship.

“O Lord, hear the enemy’s threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word. Stretch out your hand with healing power; may miraculous signs and wonders be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”

Discussion Questions 📝:

  1. Pastor Jeremy describes how the early church prayed for boldness rather than comfort or protection when facing opposition. Why do you think this approach was significant, and what does it tell us about their priorities?
  2. In Acts 2, the Holy Spirit came as tongues of fire to rest on individuals, marking a shift from corporate to personal presence. Why was this transition important, and what can it teach you about your relationship with God today?
  3. The sermon talks about being “shook again” – not getting saved again, but being refilled with boldness and passion. What are some signs that someone might need to be shook again’ in their faith?
  4. The message describes how the enemy often retaliates when we make spiritual progress, saying “no victory in heaven goes unchallenged by hell.” How does understanding this principle help us better prepare for spiritual opposition?
