Have you ever wondered WHY you were born WHEN you were born? God wired you to fulfill a specific purpose for this exact time and place. Without you, something would be missing from your generation!
Notes 📓✏️:
You were created for relationship with God and to worship Him.
Truth: Your purpose is given to you by your Creator!
If you could live in any generation, or any era, what would it be?
Number of Direct Ancestors:
- You have 2 parents
- 4 grandparents
- 8 great-grandparents
- 16 great-great-grandparents
- 32 great-great-great-grandparents
- 64 great-great-great-great-grandparents
6 generations back = 64 people for you to be here.
Biologists and statisticians estimate the chance of you being born, as you, is about 1 in 400 trillion.
You are not random.
Saved to Serve
Acts 13:36 (NIV): “Now when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep”
- God assigns each person to a generation.
- God has a specific purpose for that generation that He wants His people to fulfill.
- Once a person’s purpose is complete, He brings them home.
God timed your birth with purpose, and if you’re still here, He’s not done using you.
1. You Don’t Get to Choose Your Generation – But You Do Choose Your Impact
Bloom where you are planted.
Esther 4:14 “…for such a time as this.”
Practical Ways to Have Godly Impact:
Serve Where You Are Right Now
Be Present in Your Relationships

What seeds am I planting that will outlive me?
Speak Up for What’s Right
Both David and Esther served the good of the people, but did not serve the will of the people.
The Called sometimes must call things out.
2. Your Generation Needs What You Carry
Romans 12:6 (NIV): “We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.”
Faith, wisdom, encouragement, leadership, convictions, creativity, etc.
Your gifts are timed and appointed for your generation’s needs.
David served his people in his time.
The skills, wisdom, experience, and faith you have are uniquely timed for now.
3. Don’t Waste Your Window
You don’t have forever, just your moment.
Ephesians 5:15-16: “Be very careful, then, how you live… making the most of every opportunity…”
My comfort made me miss my window.
You don’t have forever—you have this window, and at some point, it closes.
