GOD BEHIND BARS

Our Calling We believe that no one is beyond hope — even behind bars. Through our partnership with God Behind Bars, our church has the privilege of stepping into Hardee Correctional Institute to bring real, life-giving Sunday worship, Gospel teaching, and relational presence into a world that desperately needs it. Every week, a dedicated team of volunteers enters that environment not just to “do church,” but to build trust, share grace, sit with men facing deep struggle, and shine the light of Jesus where chains and walls try to extinguish it. We do this because we believe:
  • Redemption is real. Inmates hearing the Gospel are being transformed spiritually, emotionally, relationally.
  • Community can cross fences. Many have been forgotten; we show up because God shows up.
  • Life change matters. This is more than an event — it’s part of God’s mission to connect people to Him and to the local church even while incarcerated.
  • Legacy and impact ripple outward. When someone experiences Jesus behind bars, their story doesn’t stop at the walls — it echoes into families, communities, and future generations.

GOD BEHIND BARS is already doing this at scale nationwide, installing satellite prison church campuses (complete with high-quality audio/video worship and teaching) and connecting inmates with resources, discipleship, and hope.  Their 2025 vision includes launching more campuses behind bars and increasing access for inmates via their PandoApp platform.  Why You Should Join the Team You don’t need to be a pastor or prison-expert to serve. What we need is a heart willing to go, listen, and love.

Here’s what serving might look like:
  • Greeting and building relationships with inmates
  • Helping with worship setup, media, or logistics
  • Discipling, one-on-one conversations, follow-up
  • Assisting with small groups or breakout sessions
  • Encouraging spiritual growth via prayer, Bible study, mentorship

By stepping into this role, you become part of something bigger than a Sunday service — you become a bridge, a voice, a presence of God’s love where it’s rarely seen.

What we ask of you:
  • A spirit of humility, compassion, and confidentiality
  • Commitment (your presence matters)
  • A willingness to be trained and coached
  • Background check and any required clearance (we’ll walk you through it)
