Advent Day 3: Talk About A “Christmas Miracle”!

All right then, the Lord Himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call Him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’). -Isaiah 7:14 NLT

God, after promising a Savior, used humans, whom we refer to as prophets, to reveal specific details about the coming King. Over 680 years before Jesus was born, Isaiah prophesied about a virgin mother and God in the flesh. This alone is miraculous, but it’s just one of 108 prophecies fulfilled by Jesus.

It has been calculated the probability of just 8 of these prophecies coming true is one in one hundred quadrillion. Christmas, with its stack of improbable odds, stands as one of the most significant miracles in history.

As we celebrate this holiday, ponder the incredible likelihood of Jesus fulfilling these prophecies. It’s mind-boggling! Our only fitting response is worship—with gratitude and total awe. The numbers affirm that God’s power knows no bounds, making Him deserving of our wonder.

Prayer:

Father, You are amazing. I can’t even begin to understand how You wove the story of Jesus together before He was born. I am in awe of Your never-ending power and wisdom. Thank You for the miracle of Your Son. Help me never lose sight of how great You are.
