God Behind Bars— HOPE Rising in Dixon

God Behind Bars at Dixon Correctional Center began with a vision from Pastors Jeremy & Jen back in 2014—to bring the love and hope of Jesus inside prison walls. Through prayer, partnership with the state of Illinois, and your generosity, that vision became reality in 2017 when our first prison campus launched. Today, we gather every week to worship, learn, and experience God’s presence together, seeing lives changed and hope restored in powerful ways.

We're bringing the love of Jesus to Dixon Correctional Center!

At City First Church, we believe hope should reach everyone—including those in correctional facilities. Each week, staff and volunteers step inside prisons to host church services and build relationships with inmates.

Through worship, small groups, and ongoing outreach, we help create environments where people feel supported, encouraged, and free to grow in their faith. Together, we are seeing lives changed and communities of believers formed through the power of Jesus.
