Have You Ever Felt Like Something Was Missing In Your Life?

Maybe what is missing isn’t a thing, but a person. Everyone is born with sin. Unfortunately, that sin separates us from God. When we are separated from God, our hearts, which were created by Him for a relationship with Him, will feel lost. God sent His Son, Jesus, to pay for our sins. Jesus came to earth, died on the cross, and was raised to life to save us from sin, give us new life, and bring us into a relationship with God.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” – John 3:16-17

What is Salvation?

When people think about salvation, they tend to think about what happens when we die. But in reality, salvation is so much more. It is a way to experience a full life with God here and now.

When we decide to follow Jesus, we are acknowledging that our way isn’t the best way anymore. We are given the Holy Spirit to guide us and access to God, who created, loves, and cares for us.

FAQ

How Can You Have a Relationship with God?

Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” You can have a relationship with God when you trust and believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins and commit to following Him. You can not earn your salvation, and you don’t have to always get it right to have a relationship with God.

Who Can Have a Relationship with God?

Everyone! God’s desire is that everyone has a relationship with Jesus. 2 Peter 3:9 says, “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”

When Does a Person Become “Saved?”

You have a relationship with God when you receive and believe that Jesus came, died, and rose again for your sins.

How Do I Know If I’m Saved?

When you accept Jesus as your leader and savior, you are given the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit gives you a desire to live for God as well as the ability to hear, recognize, and respond to God’s voice. To love God, to enjoy His presence, to hear His voice, and to feel the conviction of sin and the need for repentance. These are all ways you will know you have a relationship with God and are saved.

Can I Lose My Salvation?

No! You didn’t earn your salvation, so you can’t lose your salvation either! If you have accepted Jesus and put your trust in Him, and the Holy Spirit has changed your heart, then nothing or no one can separate you from God. Romans 8:38-39 promises, “…neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Do You Want To Have A Relationship With Jesus?

Romans 10:9 says, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Confess and believe. That’s all it takes to begin a relationship with Jesus. You can confess to Jesus in your own words, or pray the following: “Dear Jesus, I admit that I’ve sinned and need your forgiveness. I believe that You lived, died, and rose again so that I could be connected to God. I confess to you as my Lord and commit my life to You. I give you my past, present, and future. Take my life and use it. I give it to You. Amen.”
