Perseverance – Refusing to give up when life gets hard

Memory Verse: But those who trust in the Lord will receive new strength. They will fly as high as eagles. They will run and not get tired. They will walk and not grow weak. Isaiah 40:31 (NIrV)

Main Point: Keep going because of what Jesus did for you.

Bible Story: Learning to Fly (Fix Your Eyes on Jesus) • Hebrews 12:2-3

In Hebrews 12:2-3, the author notes that to run the race of life with perseverance, we should focus our attention on Jesus. Jesus is the ultimate example of someone who endured death itself to accomplish the rescue mission God set out for Him.

Our main point this week says – Keep going because of what Jesus did for you. Knowing that Jesus persevered through death and was resurrected is the best encouragement for us to keep going when life gets hard. When we focus on Jesus, we remember that nothing is impossible and God will help us get through whatever we face in life.

Put It Into Action:
No matter how many friends or family you have, there are times you’ll feel alone. Truth is, no matter how alone you feel, God is always with you. Even though you may not see Him, He offers you the power of His Holy Spirit any time you ask. Because God is with you, you can keep going!

At Bedtime, pray over with your kids that God will give them the power of His Holy Spirit to guide and comfort them in those moments they feel alone.
