Main Point: Love others because God loves you.
Series Memory Verse: The fruit the Holy Spirit produces is love, joy and peace. It is being patient, kind and good. It is being faithful and gentle and having control of oneself. Galatians 5:22-23a, NIrV
We kick off the month in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a. The Apostle Paul wrote a letter to a church in the city of Corinth who was struggling with putting love into action. Just like the church in Corinth, we all can struggle at times to show love. But we can be inspired to love others because God loves us!
God gave us the ultimate example of love when God sent Jesus to live a perfect life and die on the cross to make it possible for us to have a forever-relationship with God. We want our kids to discover how God’s love for us can motivate us to show love to others.
Put It Into Action:
Find a banana and use a marker to write, “The fruit of the Holy Spirit produces love!” on the fruit. As you say goodbye in the morning, hand your child the banana and tell them to, “love others because God loves you!”
